A. Marques Pitre
Managing Partner
A. Marques Pitre founded the law firm, Pitre & Associates, LLC., in June 2016 with the goal of continuing to fervently represent his clients and provide legal counsel to federal employees, contractors, agencies, unions, and employee associations in federal sector, labor and employment, as well as provide counsel on national security clearance law matters.
Marques established Pitre & Associates because he understands that issues such as workplace discrimination and retaliation can be very real and can be extremely damaging and debilitating, especially to those employees who have been attempting to fight those injustices alone. Marques wanted to continue that desired representation of his client’s while emphasizing the importance of an interpersonal relationship with the client, focusing on the client’s particular needs, and achieving the client’s desired case outcome without draining their pocketbooks.
In January 2016, Marques joined and became Partner at the law firm of John P. Mahoney, Esq. Attorney At Law because he wanted to use his skills in complex litigation in order to represent individuals on a personal level. Specifically, Marques assisted and represented federal employees who may have faced conflicts at work, been discriminated or retaliated against, who may have been unjustly disciplined, denied promotion or a security clearance, or were being forced to endure a hostile work environment/harassment.
From 2005 through 2015, Marques was a Staff Attorney at the prestigious law firm of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, LLP, in their litigation practice group. His practice focused on managing e-discovery, multi-district complex civil and criminal investigations, and litigation involving several areas of law, including, but not limited to, Antitrust, FFDCA, False Claims Act, Environmental, Stark, and Federal Anti-Kickback Statues. He planned and executed e-discovery offensive and defensive strategies in state and federal litigation. Marques successfully organized, trained, and managed discovery teams comprised of contract attorneys and other legal professionals to ensure a well-executed discovery process, while reducing risks and costs associated with the discovery lifecycle. Marques was also part of a team of attorneys providing guidance on preservation, collection and review of electronically stored information.
In addition to his commercial litigation work, Mr. Pitre participated in Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP's Superior Court Pro Bono Program, in which he represented indigent clients in Felony I and Felony II cases.
In 2003, Marques worked as a Summer Associate for the City of Chicago, Illinois, in its Employment Litigation Department, where he was tasked to revise the Department’s Equal Employment Rights Manual, which is now known as the Chicago Human Rights Ordinance.
Marques earned his Juris Doctorate from the Howard University School of Law in 2005. While there, he was a finalist in the school’s annual Mock Trial Competition and received merit scholarships annually. In 2001, Marques obtained his bachelor’s degree with honors from Illinois State University, Normal, IL.
Marques is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, United States District Court for the District of Columbia, United States District Court for the District of Maryland, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and Illinois.
